Dog Grooming Competition !

We said this year we would partake in things that push us out of our comfort zones. So far that has included training in cat grooming, a one to one with a award winning groomer in Cardiff, a mock dog grooming competition and now our very first official dog grooming competition.

We both travelled down to Somerset with client dogs to compete against the very best of dog groomers at Supergroom. The experience from start to finish was amazing, the dogs enjoyed the trip and fuss and we got to meet some amazing groomers who have now become friends / inspiration for us. Upskilling is something we both feel passionate about. There are so many breeds, coat types and grooming styles to keep us forever learning and master.

I (Kelsey) took the lovely Miel who I have groomed since a puppy. Her parents travel from Hertford for Miels grooms, they trust me implicitly and support me so much which makes the world of difference. We wouldn't be able to do this without the trust of our clients. Miel handled the day so well, she is a nervous girl when around new dogs but I understand her needs, I held her when she wanted extra comfort and because of the bond we have built she was able to relax and trust everything was ok. She made me unbelievably proud, we didnt't place in our large (and very experienced Open class - so against seasoned competitors) but I learnt so much and so did she. I can't wait to introduce what I learned with the feedback, and do even better next time!

Danielle however placed 3rd in her class with Alfie the Cavapoo, which is so amazing considering it was our first competition. It was so well deserved, Alfie was groomed to perfection. I am so incredibly proud of her achievement, her hard work has paid off and its going to be great to see where they go from here!
